About the project.
“GRIDlock Creation Project” is an interdisciplinary collaborative project intended to develop non traditional work for the stage. Through this process artists will develop an original piece for the stage that will be created, assembled and workshopped in Kingston. After the piece has been developed, it will then go into production and travel to various fringe and performance festivals across Ontario. The project is structured to challenge artists in various disciplines to collaborate using new approaches and exploring innovative ideas.
Submissions are open until Sunday December 9th at 11:59PM.
Who we are looking for:
Artists of all disciplines from emerging to established. There are no objections or expectations as to how the piece will evolve. We are looking for a small diverse team of passionate artists. (No acting or performance experience is required.)
“The GRIDlock Creation project” starts in early January and will meet bi-weekly (day selected by team) until April when the final first draft is finished. The piece will then be put into a 3 day workshop where it will be reworked and revised in preparation for a small performance in late May 2019. Artists will then go back to make initial revisions before the piece is put into production. The final piece will then be rehearsed and performed in various fringe and performance festivals in the summer of 2019.
“GRID Stage Company” operates under a PROFIT SHARED initiative.
Select artists will be contacted directly with an invitation to a group interview and workshop session mid December. Unfortunately we cannot provide feedback on your submission. If you do not get selected for this project, we will keep you in mind for other projects in the GRID 2019 season.
(Artists please include a pdf of your Resume/CV and upload any images of your work on the forum below. Video and music content should be uploaded via: Google drive, Dropbox, Youtube, Soundcloud or Vimeo ULR link.)
